About this tool

The Einhell Cordless Hedge Trimmer GC-CH 18/40 Li Kit is a member of the Power X-Change family. The Einhell GC-CH 18/40 Li Kit (18V) is a compact, high-efficiency cordless hedge trimmer engineered for precise maintenance of domestic hedges, shrubs, and bushes. Supplied as a complete starter package, this kit includes 1x 2.0Ah Power X-Change lithium-ion batteries and a fast charger, allowing you to get to work straight out of the box without the hassle of restrictive power cables or noisy petrol engines. Weighing just 2.35kg, without battery, the GC-CH 18/40 is perfectly balanced thanks to the optimal placing of the battery below the axis of the handle, giving greater control with reduced fatigue. Equipped with dual-action, 13mm spaced laser-cut and diamond-ground steel blades, the trimmer delivers clean, aggressive cuts through privet, box, holly or conifer and promote healthy plant growth. The internal drive mechanism relies on robust metal gearing rather than plastic equivalents, ensuring excellent torque transfer, reduced wear, and a significantly extended working life. User safety and control are central to the design. The unit features a two-hand safety switch that instantly halts the blades in under one second if a hand slips. A heavy-duty transparent hand guard shields the operator from flying debris without obscuring the line of sight, while the integrated aluminium blade cover protects the cutting teeth during transport or when stored away. For added durability, a rugged tip protector prevents damage to the blades when trimming low down near brick walls, paving, or gravel paths. Supplied with a spare battery and a fast charger these trimmer cuts for approx. 130 minutes and, with a quick swap to the spare, you'll be back up and cutting quickly without any wasted
