Draper 19mm Shank Mortice Chisel 1"

About this tool

The Draper 1" Mortice Chisel with 19mm shank is the largest size in the range, designed for creating wide mortices in heavy-duty joinery and structural timber work. This full-inch width is ideal for large-scale projects including gate construction, timber framing, and substantial furniture pieces where strong, wide mortice joints are required. Constructed from high carbon steel that has been hardened and tempered, this chisel delivers exceptional durability and edge retention even when working with dense hardwoods and demanding applications. The blade is finely ground and polished to ensure smooth, efficient cutting action, whilst the honed cutting edge provides razor-sharp performance straight from the box. The robust 19mm shank offers maximum stability and control when striking with a mallet, essential for removing the larger volumes of material associated with wide mortices. This 1" width is the go-to choice for professional joiners and timber framers tackling substantial projects that require maximum joint strength.
