Sika Black Jack 902 Bitumen & Flashing Primer 5L

About this tool

Guarantee a secure, watertight bond for your roofing projects from the ground up. Sika Everbuild Black Jack 902 is a highly penetrative, fast-drying bituminous primer designed for trade roofers and serious DIYers. It acts as the essential first step to seal porous and dusty surfaces, ensuring maximum adhesion for flashing tapes, roofing felts, and liquid bitumen coatings. Applying flashing tape or roof adhesive directly to dusty or porous surfaces often leads to peeling and failure. This thin, solvent-based primer soaks deep into the substrate, binding loose particles and providing a high-tack, solid key that ensures your tapes and coatings bond permanently. By sealing highly absorbent materials like old concrete, brickwork, and timber, the primer prevents the substrate from sucking the moisture or adhesive properties out of your subsequent roofing treatments. This guarantees your topcoats and adhesives cure correctly and achieve their maximum stated performance. Designed to keep exterior projects moving when weather windows are tight, this solvent-based formulation dries rapidly. In typical conditions, it creates a sound, ready-to-work surface in just 1 to 2 hours, minimizing downtime on the roof. This universal primer is the perfect preparatory base for a wide variety of roofing systems. It is fully compatible with standard self-adhesive flashing tapes, bitumen roof coatings, roofing felt adhesives, and cold gritting solutions.
